The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ:
only He can lead us to the love of the Father in the Spirit and make us share in the life of the Holy Trinity.

Welcome to 5 Loaves Ministry!Teaching Christian Life Education has become a challenging task. The way we teach is changing as rapidly as the world we live in. So, as a Catholic Religious Educator, I face such questions: How do we remain relevant in this ever-so changing world? How can we continue to impart saving truths and loving knowledge in a way that our students will truly appreciate? And, most importantly, how do we continue to facilitate a loving relationship between Jesus Christ and our students?
Even to this moment, I do not know how to answer these questions confidently. All I know is that it is a very daunting task but it is not impossible. Let this virtual presence be one of my responses, my five loaves, to these essential questions. Let this be a way for me to share with my students and fellow religious educators the beauty of being in a loving relationship with Jesus. |
WHAT'S BAKING?
BREAKING BREADBreaking bread is key in the ministry of Jesus Christ.. I have learned that it is through this simple act that the apostles were able to recognize him risen. He also used this simple act as fellowship.
Breaking bread is sharing so let me share with you my reflections in the ministry and reflections of other people as they also engage in their own ministries. |
PANDASALInspired by Jesuit Communication Philippines' Kape't Pandasal on television and YouTube, here are some considerations for reflection and prayer. These are the readings I find online that can help us in our own personal reflections.
For Filipinos, pandesal is staple breakfast item and it is nourishment. Let these readings be like bread and that they may nourish the spirit. |
BREAD 4 THE JOURNEYIn the journey of being a Catholic Religious Educator, catechist and formator, we need to continuously stock up on resources. These resources do not only help provide materials for our ministry, they enrich our own experiences of sharing the faith and they also serve as materials for prayer.
Here are some resources we find all over the web that people in the ministry like me can use as bread for the journey. |
